Otres Beach in Sihanoukville, Cambodia was the ideal place to end our five week vacation in Southeast Asia. We arrived at six in the morning, exhausted from traveling, and all we wanted was a nice place to stay and a decent meal to eat. Lucky for us, our hopeful expectation was far exceeded when we entered into the patio restaurant of the Secret Garden.
The Secret Garden is situated in the middle of Otres Beach 2, the quieter of the two beaches. It is owned by an English expat, and she knew exactly what she was doing when she created the Secret Garden menu.
The menu has a variety of dishes to choose from, from Khmer food to Western comfort food. My menu favorite was the dip plate, served with a choice of homemade tortilla chips or baguette, and a choice of three of six delicious dips. The dips ranged from hummus and baba ghanoush, to roasted red pepper and sun-dried tomato feta. All dips were absolutely incredible, it was almost impossible to choose just three.
Spending five days on this idyllic beach was the perfect end to our vacation in paradise, and after Otres, we were ready to head off to our next adventure: Derry, Ireland!!
