You would never believe how hard it is to find decent sushi in China, especially on an island. You’d think for how close China is to Japan in comparison to the US, that the sushi would be absolutely amazing, but actually, the sad truth is that most sushi isn’t fresh, most all is frozen, and its just not up to the level that you would expect. Which brings me to Kisaku. Whenever I have the opportunity to travel back to the states to visit family and friends, one of the top things on my must-do list is SUSHI. In all of its wonderful forms. So when visiting Seattle, we did a quick bit of recon…aka Yelp, and Kisaku came in at the top of the list.
Kisaku is a cozy little Japanese restaurant in Wallingford, Seattle, and they definitely lived up to the hype. Between the three of us, we ordered a sashimi platter, edamame, a few sushi rolls, and the appetizer portion of teriyaki salmon. All was absolutely amazing, so fresh and flavorful. It definitely fulfilled my sushi craving, and I would highly recommend this restaurant if you ever find yourself in Wallingford or the surrounding areas.
